Our Story

Once upon a time there was a fair young lady who was going to a student ward in Logan. One night her ward had a bonfire for family home evening. She and her roommates gathered all of their gear and headed out. They were so excited because this was one of the first ward activities with all of the new people in the ward. That meant scouting out for cute guys!!

At the bonfire the young lady decided to make herself a s'more. YUMMY! As she was putting it all together at the table someone asked her, "Would you like some milk?" Her response came fast, "Um NO!"

A few months went by and one Sunday at Church this gentleman was giving the the combined Relief Society and Priesthood lesson. The young lady leaned over to her sister that was there and told her she thought this gentleman was pretty dashing! That night at ward prayer her and her roommates had to introduce themselves. Afterwards this gentleman that gave the lesson came up and talked to her. She was in heaven. He told her he had something that he needed to drop off to her apartment. Later that evening he came by with a handout that he had forgotten to bring to church for his lesson. He stayed and visited for awhile and then was on his way. (Much later,as in after they were engaged, this young lady found out that this gentleman took the rest of the hand-outs to the Relief Society President and asked her to pass them out. She was the only one that got a hand delivered hand-out.)

A month or so later the ward had an international dinner and someone brought some pickled pigs feet. To try and impress the guy that she thought was pretty cute, she decided she would be brave and try the pickled pigs feet! YUCK!!! It did not work out the way she had planned but it gave the gentleman and his friends quite a good laugh. You see this young lady did not realize that the person way back when that asked her if she would like a glass of milk was the same gentleman that she thought was pretty cute. She had a lot of ground to make up because of the first encounter that they had. He thought she was pretty rude. He didn't realize it wasn't him but the milk that she hated so much!!

A few more months went by and nothing happened between these two. They would see each other at church and activities but that was the extent of it. One night though at FHE the fair young lady was playing ball with some friends. The dashing young gentleman came and joined them. After a while her ride was leaving. As she was getting ready to leave the dashing young gentleman said he would give her a ride home so she wouldn't have to leave yet. She said "YES" way to fast! Little did she know his transportation for the night was a motorcycle. That evening the dashing young gentleman asked for her number.

Later that week he asked her out on a date. The fair young lady was so happy! Their first dated included dinner at the Blue Bird followed by pies up the canyon. That was just the begining of their love story.

They went to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert.

Had lots of bbqs.

Celebrated his Birthday.

Spent lots of time in Star Valley.

Made it through hunting season. He said I love you for the first time the day he got home from a ten day hunting trip.

Went to a few IWA dances. That's what the fellow gets for dating an IWA chapter president.

Hung out with friends.

Got engaged on December 4th. It took the dashing gentleman 8 months to say I love you and 1 month to decide he wanted to get married.

Celebrated Christmas.

Planned their wedding.

And Started on FOREVER!

P.S. The gentleman now realizes how much the young lady HATES milk.

Tannie,
I just wrote it for fun. I have been thinking back on our story and realized that I was starting to forget the details. I decided I needed to write it down and this is the closest thing to a journal that I have.
